I’m back! I come with new clothes! And shoes! Yes!

First, an outfit (None of it was bought second-hand. I think I deserve a round of applause) (sale sections FTW):

Wearing: Shirt- J Crew, I think? Maybe H&M? Something like that. Skirt: Urban Outfitters (ikr?) Necklace: old. Shoe: Nordstrom.

This is the other stuff I got. Shall I model some for you? Yes? No? Too bad. ARMYJACKETSI<3YOU

(Yeah, that’s Spud Mackenzie in the background. So what if I enjoy looking at his portrait in pop-art form while in my own room ?)

SECRET: The first picture is an XXXL from Baby Gap. No joke.

I’m not here

Hello, loyal minions readers! I’m writing this from the far-away lands of North Carolina and I will not be able to blog much more this week.

Today I bought a wool poncho and a long blue skirt- i’ll take you some pictures when I get home; until then, goodbye, and you’ll just have to go read my older posts. I hear my old ones are pretty terrible, that might amuse you. If you don’t want to keep checking this blog for new posts all the time, you can just click the “EMAIL ME!” button under the ‘be notified’ on the right of this screen. It just means that you enter your email and it automatically lets you know when l make a new post. lt does NOTHING else- no stupid notifications, ads, sing-up requests, or spam. Just new posts. l promise!

See ya,

Garlicky Love

This is a silent film I made using the power of stop motion!

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts. I’ve been really uncreative with my outfits recently- just jeans, tucked-in tee shirts and a million clips and headbands. Nothing new. That is thanks to me never going out because I hardly know anyone yet- once school starts, I’ll dress more like I usually did before I started to get so laaayyzeeee.

The other day, someone asked me if I’d always had bangs. NOOO. I haven’t! So I decided to give you a little timeline of how I looked through childhood. (CUZ IM LIKE TOTALLY LIKE AN ADULLTT NOW OMG)

Age 3-5: Short, thin hair with half-bangs. They were half because I had such thin hair that my cowlick made them stand up.

I wore cute kiddy clothes, Hannah Anderson stuff, with flowers and dots and stripes. I hardly ever wore brands and my clothes rarely matched :) Is it vain to say that the clothes I used to wear were adorable, even if I couldn’t pick them out yet?

Obviously, the blondie is me.

When I was a little older, maybe 6, I wanted to be a princess. I would love to wear fancy, frilly things. This is my kindergarten class picture and I’m wearing a frilly puffy dress with pink lace. (!)Here’s me, at 10, playing a sheep in the class play. Need I point out who I am, as the only female? I do? Fine. I’m the one furthest to the right. I had long straight hair, thin wire glasses (I got them in 4th grade) and had a neutral sense of style. I had a uniform at that specific school.

At 10 or 11, I wanted to look old and mature, and all that crap. I had simple glasses, layered hair, and I was wearing a floral silk shirt in this picture. I would guess that I’m wearing skinny jeans and flats with it. I tried way to hard to be sophisticated or whatever. Hold on, did I have a tan?! I’m impressed that the past me went outside ever.

After that, I did a lot of style experimenting. I cut off all my long hair which I had for almost 4 years then, and I started wearing loud, colorful clothes and armwarmers made of socks. I’d mostly been inspired by Leslie Burke from the movie “Bridge to Terebithia”. I was like the dorky, awkward, unfitting Leslie with glasses and a limited costume selection. (L: Me, R: Leslie Burke)

(awkward 1st day of school picture with me looking like an old man in a wig and too many shirts)

Then I kind of developed into what I am now. Yaaaayyy. Rah. Etcetera. Awkward. Bye.

Here are some videos I made. The first one, “Owlets in Trippyland”, was made by me AND Squidgirl. The last one was an old joke made in 10 minutes on Fluxtime Studio. I don’t know how to get Fluxtime to video format so you’ll just have to go to the link. I know it’s bad and stupid! The middle one was made only by me and it has no plot whatsoever.

What do you think? Which one is the least terrible?

Miu Miu Fall RTW show

The dresses were slim, long-sleeved, and pretty. Then there were these beautiful prints, classic Miu Miu. I was happy to see some collars with the dresses, because I love that collared-undershirt look. I believe there was also some fur mixed in somewhere. The show was so… elegant looking! I mean, even in Miu Miu terms. The shoulder pads somehow made a huge addition to the grace that seemed to be dripping off the runway.  It looked a lot like Prada’s show for that season, strangely enough. Hey, wait… are those KIMONOS? No? Well, they kinda look like kimonos anyway, don’t they?

Today I discovered that instead of a jillion pictures, I can upload one album! Mwahahaha, now YOU have to do the work and click it yourself! Click, my pretties!

I’ll leave you with 2 questions today: (high five if you comment!)

What were your favorite shows for the fall?

Have you ever seen two very similar fashion shows?

It’s a parade of muffins, and we have fancy hats

My friend Squid Girl and I got candy and cool voodoo-ish bracelets. Then I went against every shred of dignity in me and wore leggings as pants with a big 80s shirt because it’s the only way not to look stupid with it. Or is it? Or should I care at all? I don’t know! Gah.I’m also wearing summery nail polish to match my outfits. Today is was a light turquoise, very pretty but very watery so it was hard to paint on. I discovered that if you put Elmer’s glue as a topcoat, it makes it matte. Don’t ask me why I know these things. And, as one last note, who else loves Muffin Films and/or Squid and Frog?

The dance is in the sun!

Today was really great! I felt very happy. I slept in, feeling refreshed, then ate cereal and watched some Daria. Later I went on Youtube and yelled at superficial, sexist people in a British accent that some people somehow believed (the accent, I mean… ahem), then I went to my bass lesson and then thrifting at Savers! A very productive day, I say! Want to see what I got? No? Too bad! This is my blog and I’ll post what I want!

The first picture is of a long wool skirt in grey plaid. It’s delightfully bulky and awkward- probably an old school uniform of sorts. IU’m holding it in the air and for some reason it looks black. The next picture is what the fabric really looks like.

Now, an awesome 80s blouse. It has shoulder pads and everything! One problem: it’s huge on me. I’ll make do. I WILL WEAR IT EVERY DAY. This happened to be the first thing that followed my mom’s mini-lecture about “dressing more normally” for the first part of my new school. Pfft! As if! The very thought…!

Detailzzz. Cuz imm a teenagerrr and wez likee to putt “z”s anddd extra lettersss at thee end of our wurdzz.

It’s salmon pink and pastel green. Someone pinch me! <3

And now… drumroll please. I saved the best for last. They’re red. They have yellow laces and little wooden heels. They make me want to say “vintage” instead of “thrifted”. They make me want to jump and never take them off! AAAH I LOVE THEM MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!!!

Another drumroll please, because this level of awesome requires two…

Please DON’T pinch me! I can’t wake up from this marvelous dream! It’s so beautiful! (sniffle)

If you like memes (memebase.com is part of the Cheezburger network [origin of the lolcat]) you will understand this.

What is the best thing you ever bought second-hand?

Six pennies, all in a row

I thought I’d share this little 3D moodboard/shrine I have to represent how I want to dress this fall. It consists of my ki

ndergarten picture, some primary-colored fabric scraps, books, a stuffed animal crammed into a jar, a candle. a highlighter, a kaleidoscope, some old photographs in cheesy frames… you get the idea. I’ll just let you look. Terrible lighting and photo quality courtesy of photobooth, because I’m too lazy to find my camera charger. Isn’t that what summer is all about?

I’m in the bottom row, second from the left. Adorable, no?

I’m just a wee bit embarrassed to own that mini Glee whiteboard. Do those intelligent books make up for it? What about the tiara?
